Every time you walk into a boutique store, you’re engulfed in a space occupied by eclectic pieces of clothing/crockery/jewellery/material/furniture (etc). It’s usually pretty cool, but also fashions a pretty large price tag. If you were at the first ever OUTSIDEIN last year, you’d understand exactly why it’s labelled as a boutique festival. FALLS FESTIVAL FOURTH LINEUP ANNOUNCEMENT

I don’t know about you, but back in early July I was in a state beyond euphoria as I was informed of the highly anticipated first lineup announcement for the 2012/2013 Falls Music and Arts Festival.

Bearing the knowledge that certain bands and artists’ presence would be closing 2012 and opening 2013 in a beautiful, natural amphitheater had me ready to buy tickets from the get go. I’m talking The Flaming LipsBeach HouseSBTRKT and Best Coast – just to name a few.

A week or two later, a further seven acts were announced, the bill’s latest additions featuring names such as Hot ChipBombay Bicycle ClubTotally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs and First Aid Kit.

A day before the ballot tokens were emailed out, Falls threw Two Door Cinema ClubCosmo JarvisDjango Djangoand loads more into the mix.

If you’re not already falling over (excuse the pun) from this monster of a lineup, I would seek some medical attention in advance as the New Years festival has added another eight acts!

To expand the mega New Years party, Lorne and Marion Bay will showcase San CiscoLoon LakeOh Mercy,Bertie BlackmanThe Jungle GiantsDJ Nu Mark Toy SetJaguar Skills and Rodrigo Y Gabriela.

So if you’re a lucky ticketholder of Lorne tickets, go and gloat to all your empty handed guy and gal pals as this lineup is proving to conduct a pretty exciting festival.

Wonderland Festival 2013 Lineup Announced!

Whenever you start the year anew, do you tend to question what you’d like to change about the next 365 days when compared to the previous year? Let me guess, you always find yourself being the exact same person with no sense of substantial change whatsoever. Well, don’t fret, the music scene is always here to help you!

You may not find Alice, but Western Australia’s Wonderland Festival wants you to come and hang out anyway. Founded in 2011, Wonderland has been described as “a boutique music festival for you to lose your shit at.” Sounds alright? Well it gets better.

The team have put together a pretty sweet lineup to welcome 2013, if we make it past the apocalypse that is. The bill features live sets from PNAUBag RaidersFlumeTim and JeanGrafton PrimaryAlison Wonderland,Elizabeth RoseWhat So Not, CANT SAY residents Indian Summer DJs and Shy Panther as well as some fresh, local talent.

A festival can’t be called “Wonderland” without any fun and exciting enchantments. The festival has teamed up with DSB – known for their party throwing skills – as they have collaboratively designed the idea of the Rabbit Hole stage. It is here where you will see nothing as you dance around with some headphones strapped to your head. Why? Because it’s a silent disco in a pitch-black tent!

So ignore the fact that New Years Day is annual hangover day and get yourself to the beautiful Belvoir Amphitheater in order for the opening of 2013 to be as mad as a hatter.

Before you start dwelling about how much these tickets are going to set you back, I’ll have you know that the first allocation is free. As in zero dollars. Nothing! What? Just don’t question it.

Having said that though, you’ve got to be quick! Make sure you hop on to either Ticketmaster or wonderlandnyd.com at 9am next Monday, 15th October. Ticket prices will increase in ten dollar increments at each allocation.
